GOLF

Close to Lagos you have a choice of five golf courses: Palmares, Boavista, Parque da Floresta, Morgado do Reguengo and Penina. As guests of our apartment you are entitled to discount prices at the golf courses of Palmares, Boavista and Morgado. All you have to do is introduce yourself as guest of our apartment D. Manuel I at the reception of the Marina Club and book the round of golf at the Marina Club. Currently Palmares is closed and is undergoing a major transformation. It will reopen to the public in July 2010.

Palmares

Located just a 10 minute drive from town, this golf course was created by Pennink overlooking the bay of Lagos and with views of the distant Monchique hills. For some, it is the jewel in the crown of Algarve, for others it is a must on their golf tour of Algarve. In recent years has been chosen for important competitions. To take advantage of the beautiful sight of the blossoming almond trees the Almond Blossom Amateur Tournament is held in February, attracting many visitors from Europe.

Boavista

This golf course is a 10 minute drive from Lagos and enjoys a beautiful location in the Western Algarve between Lagos and Praia da Luz. Its scenery is magnificent, with views of the Monchique hills. A visit to the lovely restaurant or to the snack bar/bistro will be the perfect end of a truly enjoyable day.

Parque da Floresta

Driving past Boavista Golf course on your way to Sagres is Parque da Floresta golf course designed by Pepe Gancedo, one of Spain's most famous architects. His philosophy of golf course construction is to introduce minimal alteration to the existing terrain.
Parque da Floresta offers magnificent views of the surrounding Algarve countryside and of the Atlantic Ocean beyond. It is situate not far from the Costa Vicentina Nature Reserve.

Penina

Penina Hotel & Golf Resort has a championship golf course which was the first golf course to be built in Algarve. It is considered the most brilliant project of Sir Henry Cotton who was triple champion of the British Open. It also features two nine hole loops. It hosted several of the Portuguese Open Championships.
